Online Giving Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the church offering this service?

Use of credit/debit cards and online purchasing are becoming more popular, as check usage declines.  Online giving is much more convenient than preparing and bringing/mailing checks to church.  The contributions are instantaneous and you get email confirmation.

Do I have to be a member to give online?

No, we welcome gifts to the ministry and mission of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church from both members and friends.

How do I make donations?

Through the church website:  pinegrovepresbyterian.org/give and click on the “Give Online” link at the bottom of the page. You will be directed to our secure online donation page.

You may make a one-time contribution or set up a recurring payment via your bank account.  Recurring donations can be set up for any amount and any frequency and can be modified by you at any time.  Ease of payment also helps members budget their contributions throughout the year.

What will my donation be used for?

Currently all donations will be added to the church’s general fund. There is an area on the donation page where you can indicate if you want your donation to be used for a specific item (i.e. a memorial gift for a particular person, building repairs, youth programs, general fund, etc.)

How do I pay?

You may elect to have funds transferred from a checking/savings account or by a debit/credit card payment. For larger donations, we strongly recommend not using the online giving and use a check instead to ensure the full amount goes to the church.

Is it secure?

The payment process meets the strictest standards set by the payment card industry.  Within the church, only the receiving and distributing church treasurers have access to your payment information.

Is therae a cost?

There is no added cost to the donor.  The church will incur certain fees that are taken out of your donation before the money reaches our general fund. These fees are set by the Presbyterian Foundation and debit card administrators and amount to a 1% administrative fee for all gifts and an additional 2.598% plus .26 cents for gifts using a debit or credit card. For example, a $100 donation via credit card will give the church about $96, while the same donation via EBT will give the church $99.  You have the option of increasing your contribution to cover the card fee. For larger donations, we strongly recommend not using the online giving and use a check instead to ensure the full amount goes to the church.

Can I get a receipt for my online gift?

After you submit your gift information, a confirmation email will be sent to you. This is considered a valid receipt.

Who provides the service?

We have contracted with the Presbyterian Mission Exchange of the Presbyterian Church (USA). For more information on this organization, please visit  their website: https://www.presbyterianmissionexchange.org/. Transactions will appear on your statement as Presbyterian FDN 800-858-6127.

Who do I talk to if I have more questions?

For additional information, feel free to ask any member of Session or one of the church treasurers.
